Usage Instructions

1. Cleansing Procedure: Before utilizing the alumina crucible, ensure to perform a thorough cleaning to eliminate impurities and dust from its surface. Use a soft cloth or brush for gentle wiping; refrain from employing hard objects or metal brushes to prevent any scratches on the crucible surface.
 
2. Minimize Vibrations: While employing the crucible, steer clear of intense vibrations or collisions to prevent any potential damage to its structural integrity.
 
3. Chemical Interaction Caution: Although alumina crucibles exhibit excellent resistance to strong acids and alkalis, prolonged exposure to these substances may trigger chemical reactions on the surface, impacting its overall lifespan. Exercise caution during use, minimizing contact with strong acids and bases and opting for milder reagents.
 
4. Optimal Preheating: Set the preheating temperature at approximately 105℃, ensuring a slow and uniform heating process. Control the heating rate meticulously, and refrain from frequently opening the furnace door. For temperatures below 1200℃, maintain a rate of <5℃/min, and for temperatures above 1200℃, keep it <4℃/min.
 
5. Heating Guidelines: Avoid using a gasoline spray gun, acetylene gun, or alcohol spray burner for direct heating to prevent explosive cracking due to uneven heat. Maintain a distance of no less than 2cm between the crucible and the heating body, employing materials like corundum sheet to lift the crucible and facilitate air convection, thereby extending its service life.
 
6. Residue Removal: It is permissible to clean residue from the crucible surface while it is still hot, but refrain from using acid and alkali substances for cleaning.
 
7. Molten Sample Suitability: Alumina crucibles are suitable for molten samples containing weakly alkaline substances like anhydrous Na2CO3, but unsuitable for strongly alkaline substances such as Na2O2, NaOH, and acidic substances like potassium pyrosulfate K2S2O7.
 
8. Safety Measures: Due to the high temperatures involved, ensure personal safety during use by donning heat-releasing gloves and protective glasses to prevent burns or eye injuries.
 
9. Storage Guidelines: When storing alumina crucibles, place them in a dry and well-ventilated environment to prevent friction or collisions with other items, thereby avoiding potential scratches or damage to the crucible surface.
